no more ndi?

is it possible that the 1.008 spout to ndi ffgl pluins after ndi tools 3.8 not longer work. they are there by double click and enter ndi, but after choose receiver or sender izzy freezes.

any idea.

the ndi feed we get is from a computer of a vj which have to send the feed to izzy. he can use resolume, isadora or obs or arkaos to send us a ndi feed over network(local). 

in izzy patch, the video flow should be established at every moment, and if the ndi feed fades in it should also fade in isadora.

so simple, isn't it?

if we feed any ndi stream from or to any of that mediaservers, all show the fade from outside embedded in the ndi feed, expect isadora and capture 2020.

this both have the same behavior.

maybe you handle the alpha channel in a other way then others do?

it is definitive too much work, not to use the incoming feed to show all content including fades in intensity.

If you're on Windows there is an NDI plugin for VLC. You can get the NDI stream into Isadora through spout. I've been using NDI it allot lately as it's pretty powerful.

where can I find 4.6 ?

I need to make the text of the plugin more clear. It uses v4.6 of the NDI library. I should use the work uses instead of requires, the NDI library is already inside the plugin. (However if your source is an NDI 3 source then maybe there will be problems. I've never tried that.) 

Also the NDI website is wrong as indicated in this post. The current version is in fact 4.6.1.

That said, I have no problem receiving 1920 x 1080 and other resolutions on MacOS Mojave. I used NDISyphon to convert a Syphon Signal from Simple Server (the test program provided with Syphon) and read it in Isadora. It gives me the full resolution.

What are you using as a source?

If you use NDI Syphon to convert it to a Syphon signal, and then read that signal with the Syphon Receiver actor in Isadora, what resolution do you get?

I put together a knowledge base article on how to send Skype's output into Isadora using NDI. (This requires the Skype v8.25.)

Right now, there is not a cross platform solution to allow Isadora's output to go into Skype. This can be done on Windows by installing NDI tools which includes a 'virtual webcam' that can receive NDI input. I will update the article to show how to use this virtual webcam sometime this week.

since I start using Isadora I was envious of mac user  (i'm a windows one) for few things, one was syphon. Through it you are able to put anything you need into isadora as video feed. 

Now also win can do it!!! (or better...it can do it since a lot of time...but now I know how.. )

thanks to @Woland i've started to play with OBS, a beautiful program that allow to grab almost anything you got on you PC and stream it to facebook, youtube, twich and so on

i.e. you can grab a windows from skype, one from chrome and one from you webcam and create an unique video feed (also audio)

OBS also got a beautiful plug in that allow you to cast video and audio to NDI network

thanks to spout folks NDI can goes into spout...spout goes into isadora so for transitive property ANYTHING GOES INTO IZZY!!!

This is a quick and raw report, there something dark in the FFGL plug in (index value...) and also i've not tested intensively the stability, but for me it was a big discover that open me a lot of possibility.

NDI Source>> NDI Syphon >> Isadora give always the correct resolution in Isadora but by a direct connection over the actor NDI 4 with 3 different sources I get only a width of 640. I used as sources:

- iPhone 7 with EpocCam (1280x720) or JustWifiCam (1920x1080)

- New Tek NDI Scan Converter to get e.g the desktop (3840x1200)

I have the last NDI Tools installed.

NDI.Cloud is in open beta, and I've found that it works pretty well. I've used it cross-platform with no issue, though they say that it runs better in Mac OS. There are spout/syphon to NDI plugins you can use to get the video stream into it, and I'd recommend using something like Hamachi to set up a tunnel/VPN between your computers. I'm using it to try and replace a video-conference link for a show. I wish I'd done more testing to tell you about, but so far so good. I haven't found a good way to get audio from Isadora into the NDI stream, but I might use VBAN to do a separate audio stream.

Thank you so much for your reply. Look forward to whenever it does get integrated and totally get that it might be awhile. I have work arounds for now.

Unfortunately, the Syphon NDI apps don't do NDI HX. Currently the syphon apps only do regular NDI which works great for iPhones but not the new HX hardware that NewTek has put out.I might try to bug them and see if they will add. Sienna has added it to their NDI monitor at my request so who knows.  

In case anyone is interested, I have tested and am using both the NewTek spark and their NDI PTZ camera. Both work great. Currently running over 250 ft of ethernet cable. No issues. Worked pretty much right out of the box. Very low latency (at least for me). Helping me move beyond my various analog to digital convertors. And the PTZ camera is really great quality. Expensive but can imagine using it in performance a lot.

Just sayin. Virtual Input is a desirable tool in Covid times.

Well, I cannot find a problem at this point. I just installed NDI Tools Virtual Input v4.5 and all other tools in the NDI 4.5 tools download on MacOS Mojave (I don't have a High Sierra install handy). There were no problems on starting up. I successfully connected to the NDI HX Camera (iOS) without issue.

(This was with the latest NDI Watcher with audio, see this thread to download.)

Did you install other tools as well? Or just the Virtual Input?

Please .zip the crash reports (must end in .crash) from today for Isadora (in /Users/YOURUSERFOLDER/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports) and post them here. I'll take a look.
