Moving between scenes
This is probably a very basic question, but I am using a Kinect with the Eyes Actor (and the syphon receiver). I have created a series of scenes each with a different effects (in which the user moves around the stage interacting with text). The Eyes actor seems to be working fine so as the user moves around the room, I get the effects on the text that I want (more or less).
However, I am looking for help having Isadora move from scene to scene as the user walks across the floor. In other words, the user will be moving from left to right and I want Isadora to jump to the next scene when the user gets close to the right edge of the stage. Ideally, if the user gets close to the left edge, Isadora would jump back to the previous scene, but I would be happy even if I can get it working in only one direction for now.
1. At the moment, I can't get anything to happen when the user gets to the right edge. I am assuming that I should be using the watch column and row to deactivate the current scene and activate a new one, but it doesn't seem to work for me --or more likely I am doing something wrong.
2. However, once I solve problem #1, I suspect I will have another problem because when the user walks from scene #1 into scene #2, she will initially be standing at the right edge of the stage and she will need to move back to the center or left rather than having scene #3 activated based on her position at the stage edge.
I'm sorry if this explanation is as clear as mud. Basically, I would like to create a visual effect that makes it look like a user is walking from room to room or world to world as she moves through space.
I would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. It looks perfect. I was not aware of the inside range actor. I will try it today. Just out of curiosity, is there any reason why I should use Eyes ++ instead of Eyes. I have not tried the Eyes ++ actor yet but I can switch if that is a better choice.
You can also use the normal Eyes actor, I am just used to do everything with Eyes++.
