Thanks to your 1 x 1 grid setting I found out what it was.

That is definitely a bug. It happens when you select grid, but leave the grid at 1 x 1. Once you enter a grid of let's say 10 x 10 it scales okay. I filed it in as a bug.

I think it is just an overlay, I will check if it actually a grid once I get back to the studio.
