During the Isadora Werkstatt, we offered a class where participants could work with the OpenNI skeleton tracking plugins. These folks are serving as the final beta testers for those plugins, and we'll release them to the greater community after we process the feedback they offer us over the next week or two.

But during the Werkstatt, one person showed up with a Kinect v1 model 1517 -- which I personally had never heard of before. This did not work with our plugins on MacOS, which use libfreenect to acquire the depth map images.

So, my question: regardless of software, has anyone ever seen a Kinect 1517 work on MacOS?

For those who are curious, some of Mark's tech-head friends answered the same question on Facebook and the answer is "No".

To be specific, Julius Tuomisto, one of the creators of NI Mate said this: "We never got the 1517 working on Mac, which says a lot. Don't waste your time Mark."

So, we will not be attempting to support the Kinect v1 model 1517. Here's how to identifiy it:
