Once you know the workaround of tricking Isadora into thinking it's not a closed loop it's pretty easy to get around though.

Woland

Reply to [ANSWERED] How to connect the output of an Envelope Generator to its own input on Mon, 30 Nov 2020 15:15:31 GMT

@craigw

Also, adding anything that makes it not a closed loop gets around this.

Woland

Reply to [ANSWERED] How to connect the output of an Envelope Generator to its own input on Mon, 30 Nov 2020 02:21:40 GMT

Ok, Sounds like a good plan.

Thanks

craigw

Reply to [ANSWERED] How to connect the output of an Envelope Generator to its own input on Sun, 29 Nov 2020 23:15:21 GMT

Like @bonemap already stated, creating a cycle patch like you currently do is not allowed in Isadora and it will cause all inputs / outputs to be deactivated.
Hi,

I think you will find this is expected behaviour. It is because a circular routing like this is not possible in Isadora (where the output of an actor is wired through to the same actor input i.e. leads back to itself). I have hit this many, many times. You can think about placing a broadcaster and listener into the patch to overcome the limitation.

Best Wishes
