A year ago insane wildfires burned in Australia claiming many lives and an estimated 18.6 million hectares (46 million acres; 186,000 square kilometres; 72,000 square miles) of country.

In remembering that event I seem to have created an animation patch in Isadora burning spooky cartoon trees with flying embers. Exploring the technique of accessing point cloud data using the Data Array module.

If you are interested in running the patch. You might want to set your preferences to a moderate FPS.

I created a standalone OSC facial landmark detector for a piece in UE4 recently and then sent that over IP to the engine to allow opera singers to pilot virtual avatars. Though in this setting, maybe the raw skeletons are more appropriate!

liminal_andy

Reply to Burning spooky cartoon trees with flying embers on Tue, 23 Feb 2021 02:40:11 GMT

@liminal_andy said:

Yes, it would be simple enough to add a video feed layer on a 3D Quad module and have a live performer represented in there. I think some skeleton tracking character could also be incorporated! Need to get some of that long-distance OSC skeleton data flowing.

Best Wishes

Russell

bonemap

Reply to Burning spooky cartoon trees with flying embers on Mon, 22 Feb 2021 04:23:07 GMT

@bonemap combine this with @DusX 's facial motion tests from a few weeks ago and we'll all be in for a good fright!

liminal_andy

Reply to Burning spooky cartoon trees with flying embers on Mon, 22 Feb 2021 04:17:18 GMT

@bonemap Nice fire movement around the trees bodies Russel !

Armando
