Hi,

@benglover

I'm confident that @Dusx is correct in suggesting that you can align your vision with Isadora's pre-existing modules. Isadora's 3D Model Particles module is capable of effectively achieving the descriptions you have provided. The GF parameter in this system is designed to create a dynamic gravity field, allowing for attraction and repulsion properties to be applied to individual particle instances. I have attached a real-time demonstration showcasing the operation of (GF) parameters: demo-particles-03.zip

As an additional resource, I would like to share a link to a patch on the AddOns page that utilizes javascript collision detection.... https://troikatronix.com/add-o...

Best wishes

Russell

I just googled box2d Isadora and was led to your YouTube video so it seems like that could be achievable :).

Our example was basically this: There are 4 options to choose from. Each representing an emoji. As one is selected it falls down the screen and lands on the bottom, as more get selected they fall down bouncing with the other emoji gradually forming a pile. Currently our version is just a number showing the result, not too exciting!

The other example was closer to a boids flocking simulation with the answer that's selected randomly appearing in space, then being attracted to a specific point on screen.

I'll have a go at some stuff tomorrow and see what I can achieve with javascript.

benglover

Reply to Isadora programmer needed, preferred UK open to remote on Mon, 12 Jun 2023 19:45:01 GMT

@dusx

Hi there! excuse my intrusion but I take advantage of this very interesting thread to ask if it is possible to show or share things that can be achieved with these types of procedures between: audience telephone numbers- Isadora (the possibility of sending images, text, video or what else ? and so...)

I think it would be a topic with a lot of potential for the educational field as well as the artistic one.

Thanks in advance
Maxi-RIL

RIL

Reply to Isadora programmer needed, preferred UK open to remote on Mon, 12 Jun 2023 17:25:37 GMT

@benglover said:

I wouldn't be sure of that. A lot is possible. Explain a little more and I am sure I can outline a solution.

DusX

Reply to Isadora programmer needed, preferred UK open to remote on Mon, 12 Jun 2023 14:52:07 GMT

Thanks @jhoepffner and @dusx. As DusX mentioned, we've got the data into Isadora as JSON working nicely. It's more to do with content! We'll be looking over it in more detail later in the week but basically it's finding the best way to visualise data when working with up to 100 entries. We had ideas of piles of emoji but don't think Isadora is capable of generating the physics and object oriented programming to achieve this.

benglover

Reply to Isadora programmer needed, preferred UK open to remote on Mon, 12 Jun 2023 13:11:15 GMT

@benglover

It sounds to me like you have the hard part worked out already (getting the data to Isadora as JSON).
If you have any trouble, don't hesitate to ask for help here on the forum :)
I'm located in Canada, so definitely remote. If you don't find anyone in your area feel free to send me a DM.

DusX

Reply to Isadora programmer needed, preferred UK open to remote on Sun, 11 Jun 2023 03:53:34 GMT

@benglover

Hello, I am not a able to help you with Isadora in east UK next week…

But I am working now on a project with text and image on audience phones. After many tries, the best solution, for me, was to use node-red on the central computer.

You can communicate with Isadora through OSC and you have many possibilities to format your page.

You need only a navigator on the client phone but we use kiosk pro plus to secure the phone.

Perhapsue its easier to finf a node-red specialist!

Jacques

jhoepffner
