<![CDATA[Window Hardware - anyone using the new Intel Ultra processors?]]>According to my Dell contacts, the major advantages of using new Intel Core Ultra processors are as follows:

  1.  -The Ultra processors have AI Enhanced Graphic capabilities which delivers up to 82% better graphics performance compared to conventional i7/i9 processors. This is beneficial when you use software like Adobe Photoshop and lightroom where it enables you to have smoother and faster rendering times.
  2.  -The AI capabilities in the Ultra processors helps speed up your workflow and enhance the quality of your edits when you use it for a software.
  3. -These processors provide significant advancements in power efficiency, offering up to 58% longer battery life.
  4.  - With Intel vPro technology integrated, the Intel Core Ultra processors offer comprehensive security features that protect sensitive image files and allow easier manageability of remote workflows.

Does anyone have any real-world experience with them? Are they meant to be the competition for the MAC ARM processors?

Any info would be appreciated.

numbers 2 and 4 seem to be contradictory.

1) Rendering is mostly done on the dedicated hardware, especially in those environments. Which means the GPU, not the CPU

2) AI capabilities, yeah we aren't using them in Isadora and I do have to find the use-case for them locally still. On the cloud sure, but then that compute is done on the cloud, and not on your local machine

3) Well that is a nice to have for sure, since Windows machines are eating your power like that. But this is just 20% of the power consumption, your GPU and your display are going to be worst offenders.

4) Not applicable/ interesting for day to day users.
