How to input a video stream from an iphone using the Ip
-
not working for me on 10.8.4
-
not working for me either
-
after upgrading to 10.7.5 stopped working
but although some times it also gives me a green screen in Izzy, most of the times it supplies to Isadora the blue laptop/phone screen.... and sometimes in the phone it goes to black as if it had sensed something...
could it be anything with port 5055? what is it anyway?? -
We have developed an iOS app that streams video to a custom Isadora actor - the reason for it was to be able to have multiple wireless video streams simultaneously from multiple iPods. While it is going to take a hit on video quality when multiple streams are active, what it does allow is for the iPods to be configured as blob tracking sources that only need a lower resolution. We have used the app in a show that has two iPods mounted in breast plates giving performer POV for live projection and another iPod above part of the stage as a blob tracking source. This is a Mac only set of tools at present but we would like to make it available to the community at some point. Other than this we have used iWebcamera for single video streams. A concern is setting up the wireless bandwidth to accommodated an uninterrupted video stream. Does anyone have a suggestion or specification for a strong wireless system?

Hello all,
I have used Airplay Server to mirror my iphone/ipod onto my MacBook Pro laptop. Airplay publishes the mirrored video as a syphon chanel. So now I can use any app that provides a clean view of the camera input OR mirror any other app or whatnot I can get on the phone screen into Isadora. It is actively kept up to date and works with 10.8I have found this to be a flexible and high quality solution.-Alex -
EpocCam works for me on 10.9.5 streaming from Android. I downloaded EpocCam Pro from the Kinoni website which enables syphon output from up to four cameras. The android app seems like it doesn't work (lots of complaints about black screens), but a few double taps on the screen where the flip button would appear (bottom of the screen when holding phone vertically) seems to get the camera up and running. I don't know if this is the best option, but it is cross-platform and does still work with more recent OS.

Hi Everyone, I am starting work on a new troika tutorial for this topic, to accompany public release of 2.0
If anyone has new information to share about latest iOS video streaming apps and options, please repost here now.@Bonemap How did it go with your custom solution? You said you might be willing to share? Feel free to message me off post.
Thank you!

Yes, happy to discuss and share. The iOS app links to the Isadora actor using bonjour. The issue is the cost of publishing the iOS app on the App Store to make it available. But we can work through this to see if it is viable to publish etc Regards Russell Bonemap

@bonemap Can you put it on github so we can compile and push it to devices with our own developer accounts?

I started to use PocketCam application lately in addition to syphon server...
