I'm very new to the program so please excuse my ignorance.

I want to layer 8 videos on top of each other and have control over their respective opacities.
and right now I simply have 8 movie players connected to 8 projectors and am controlling the intensity parameter on each projector.
Is there a better way to do this? Maybe with the mixer actors?
I would like one fader to correspond with each opacity like a recording engineer would have one fader per track.

      Thanks!

No, the way you are doing it now utilizes the GPU for all the layering/opacity changes and is the most efficient way to do it in Isadora v1.

Version 2 will offer additional GPU mixing options, but for individual control like an audio board, your approach is still probably best.
