      Hi all,

I have been away from Izzy for a while and wanted to to get back, but the program crashes on opening (so far 4 different versions including 1.3.1f06 and 2.0.1).

I can't open Isadora at all. This has never happened before.

I haven't changed my system (10.6.8), although there is a new Java download from Apple, and I installed Protools.  Otherwise same QT, etc...

I'm attaching two crash reports, one for 1.3.1f06 and 1 for 2.0.1.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Eric

        Dear Eric,

The crash is happening so early in the boot up sequence that it doesn't really tell me anything – It's not even within the "main" application function yet when the crash occurs -- at least as far as I can tell. This leads me to suspect the problem is likely related to the Java or Protools install.
There were some problems a few years ago with Protools -- a MIDI driver as I remember – but it could have been some audio thing.
One thing to try removing is a file at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Digidesign which may be called DigiCoreAudioPlugIn.
You could take the whole digidesign folder and temporary move it to the Desktop to remove all of the Core Audio stuff that was installed. You'll need to reboot after you do this.
Give that a try and see what happens.
        Best,
        Mark

          @mark,

          Hi mark,

thanks.  I followed your instruction (both suggestions) but no go with 1.3.1f06.

2.0.1 opens but my old scenes play back incredibly slowly (5 FPS vs. 25). I guess that's the difference between the Classic CI Actors and the new ones.

For my old patches I'll try to get 1.3.1f06 going again....

          Thanks for the tips,

          Eric

            Dear @ursullivan,

2.0.5 fixes many issues with Quartz Composer stuff, which also affects CoreImage. I would try again.

            Best Wishes,

Just to let everybody know, the crashing problem was a QC Patch called TB Tunnel 1.5.
