Assistant Projection Designer Needed
-
Hi all,
I design projections for a successful theatre company that produces and performs one-person shows. We present primarily in regional theaters in the United States, and will likely have some shows abroad in the next year or two. 2015 is likely to be a busy year for us.I'm looking for an assistant designer to learn the shows and help load them in, since I can't always be there. For someone familiar with Isadora, the setup is fairly straightforward, using a Mac Pro with two to four projectors. Load-in would involve supervising system setup and focus, adjusting masking, aligning the images to fit the space, and tweaking cues as needed while working with the director, lighting designer, and production manager. Each load-in would typically last a few days to a week; it would not be necessary to stay on for the run of the show (our shows usually run 2 to 8 weeks in a city). The ideal person would have familiarity with Isadora and be comfortable in a traditional theatrical setting. Playing well with others is key, as it is with any touring company. Most of us are based in Southern California, so if you're in Los Angeles or San Diego, that's a plus as well since it would make training and travel a little easier. Also, we're a nice group of people and we like to eat well.If you're interested, please let me know!
