I've been playing with the new/ish NDI spout plugins [ http://spout.zeal.co/download-... ], and have to say that I am pretty happy with the performance so far..
I have also installed and tested the NDI camera [ https://www.newtek.com/softwar... ] on a couple android phones (also available for ios), and see potential here.. its not low latency, and it works best at SD (the high setting is 720p).
You can have a decent wireless input up and running in a few minutes. (camera costs $25)

If you want to send video between mac and pc over your network (gigabit ethernet recommended) you can. You will need the Syphon 2 NDI plugin [ http://techlife.sg/TCPSyphon/ ].

That look promising - and very cool. It would be nice to have a native Isadora actor for NDI!

On Windows the NDI freeframegl actor is as easy to use as any native actor. It would be nice if there were similar for Mac.
I've asked about it on the spout ndi forum thread...

Here is a link with a number of Mac NDI tools from Sienna: http://www.sienna-tv.com/ndi/
I have not tested these, but they look promising.
There are a few free tools available thru the 'tools' link near the top of the page. Others are for purchase from the Apple store.

@DusX Opps, I missed the FFGL actor! I'll try it out.

              Thanks,

                    No,
you need to copy "Processing.NDI.Lib.x86.dll" from the "Spout to NDI" folder and add it to the Isadora folder (in the same place as isadora.exe).
Its easy to jump ahead thinking its a normal set of FFGL's without looking at the PDF.

I've been working with NDI for a little while now and absolutely love it. I hadn't realized that there was an FFGL plugin, though - that's so useful!

For anyone interested, A 1080p stream uses around 0.1 Gbps, so it runs fine over my home network, even over wifi. I don't notice any latency at all. I haven't tried the mobile apps, but I have used a phone as a tiny actor monitor with TCPsyphon in the past, and that was really useful. I'm also kind of excited at the idea of using this with 802.11ad wifi (which, apart from having crazy bandwidth, should eliminate any interference problems), but that's a long way off.

Speaking of Sienna, I'm in their beta program for NDI.Cloud, which will let you relay NDI streams over the internet, and it works pretty darn well. They've run London-Australia at 1080p with 500ms round trip (both there and back again, with decoding/encoding at each end), and my tests line up with that. It looks like around 125ms processing time, plus whatever latency is in the connection anyway.

NDI.Cloud sounds very interesting. Thank-you for the information.
The mobile app, does have noticeable delay over my current wireless (1300Mbps), but is still useable for some situations.
                        Worth knowing its an option.
