      Hi,

      I have been prototyping a fog screen for an installation. Using arduino, a 12v PWM Relay and a remote controller hack, Isadora will use camera motion tracking to trigger serial commands to the Arduino and control a ultrasonic vaporiser and water-proof PWM fan to materialise a  fog screen around a sculpture. Isadora will then output video onto the sculpture/fog screen using a ceiling mounted projector - well that's the plan.i

      I thought there might be some interest or advice if anyone has tried something similar.

      cheers

        Nice timing... I was just working thru an installation design that will likely require similar ☺

            @DusX

            Hi,

            I am looking at the next steps with this prototype. The current application is a specific development for a fellow artist to deliver a cloud around a sculpture with some particle projections and the current prototype will deliver that OK. All the components will be concealed in the sculptures base. Looking further the prototype might progress along the line of the laminar flow of existing vapour screens like this or a dimensional sculptural approach that is for me more interesting to develop like this and I think Isadora can really help with the multi viewpoint display. The next thing is to look at how the vapour/fog flow can be manipulated and to some extent controlled either by fan directed airflow and/or control of fog turbulence using some kind of extruded honeycomb component.

            cheers
