      Hi,

That does not sound right. "This actor represents an ArtNet "node." Each node has something called an ArtNet "subnet" address, which can range from 0 to 15". Check out the knowledgebase article here.

      best wishes

Is it true that Izzy can only send 4 ports out ? So that means that you can only send 4 universes ? Why cant it use a full subnet (16 universes) ?

This is a limitation of Art Net itself with regard to each IP address. For example, see this note on GitHub about a another Art Net plugin.

ArtNet limits a single device (identified by a unique IP) to four input and four output ports, each bound to a separate ArtNet Port Address (see the ArtNet spec for more details). The ArtNet Port Address is a 16 bits int, defined as follows:

If you use a second ethernet/wifi interface with a unique IP, then you can have more.

May I ask why Resolume is fully capable of sending more then 4 universes?

Well, upon further research, I guess that's because they support ArtNet 4. (See here.)  I used open source code to implement the ArtNet modules, and apparently that code is ArtNet 3, which has the four port limit. I'll look into what it will take to update the code and publish an update to the plugins.

I am using libartnet, which is older and is ArtNet 3. But even the latest open source code from the OLA (Open Lighting Association) doesn't support ArtNet 4, as seen by this open issue on their GitHub repro.

Hi Mark, I'd happily test a trial a trial at any point if you'd like >4 universe test --   I'm in mid-build on a large artnet based LED pixel installation that uses 16 universes.

                Cheers, Ian

Please make a showcase post if/when you've documented your installation. I'm sure lots of folks, including myself, would love to see it!

Hi Woland, I'll definitely post some documentation when all is public. For people in the NYC area it'll premiere at EMPAC in Troy, NY the second week of Sept. 2018. And putting in a plug for the good folks of DMXking and their LeDMXPro boxes which have been very helpful.

                       Hi Ian,

Hope you are doing well. Are you using the LeDMXPro with internal memory cards by any chance? If so was there an option to self-install the cards?

                      cheers,

Hope you're all doing well as well! I am using the new ledmxpro that can accept sd cards. I haven't dis-assembled them yet to install one, but, its on the docket. In theory the SD cards are the the show fail-safe with a copy of the show stored and able to run controller free. I'll do a follow up post once that part either works or doesn't.
