another expected problem with my new MSI laptop. I am unable to install the HAP codec that I downloaded from the RenderHeads website. When I run  HapDirectShowCodecSetup.exe, I get no error messeges and it seems to install it,  but HAP is not listed as an available codec when I run VirtualDub. Also, Isadora is unable to play a HAP avi file that I had played on another PC with HAP installed. Does anyone have a suggestion about what the problem is?

      thank you,
      Don

You probably haven't installed the required c++ redistributable (used to create the hap codec I expect).

I had exactly the same problem and DusX's solution solved it.
