Hi, I'm running Isadora v3.02 on a Mac Pro with PNG's pics that have alphas.

I have 10 picture players that rapidly change pictures (15 pictures from the same bin) the signal flow is, a counter actor in wrap mode that loads pictures to the picture player actor. and it goes rapidly displays 15 pictures over and over. On the screen you see 10 boxes that are revolving picture. So 10 boxes are the 10 picture players.

After about 10-20 seconds some of the picture players stop showing the updated pictures, it'll freeze on one picture even thought the picture player says there are new files it should be displaying.

Of the 10 picture players it seems radon which ones will stop updating. The way I clear it is to close the app and relaunch Or I can delete that picture player and re add it and then it'll be good for 10-20 seconds.

      Thanks

I haven’t tried using jpegs instead. But I’ve always had good luck with png’s.

@craig  what size in pixels are the png’s ? Make sure you don’t export to 300 dpi or something like that. 72 is good enough for 1 on 1 graphics on screen

Hmm, My laptop doesn't seem to be having this problem. It's slower but is has Mojave, the work/game computer that is having the problem is running High Sierra.

Maybe nothing to do with it?

              Maybe reinstall Isadora?

              I can't explain this. Strange.

Is the CPU 64 bit capable? What kind of processor are you running on the High Sierra machine?

How to See if Your Mac’s Processor is 32-bit or 64-bit

To see if your Mac’s processor is 32-bit or 64-bit, go to the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. Below the operating system version and computer model name you’ll see your processor.

If the processor is an Intel Core Solo or Intel Core Duo, it’s 32-bit only. Here are the 64-bit Intel processors Apple has used in the Mac:

                  • Core 2 Duo
                  • Dual-core Xeon
                  • Quad-core Xeon
                  • Core i3
                  • Core i5
                  • Core i7

                  Mac Mini M1 2020 / OSX 11.7
                  MacBook Pro 2,3 Ghz Intel 8 core I9 / OSX 10.15.7
                  MacBook Pro 2,2 Ghz Intel 8 core I7 / OSX 10.15.7

                  and a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X ;)

And one other thing, the wrap counter goes from 1 to 15 and not 0 to 15 right?

Try with a resolution multiple of four, as 300x300, its better to avoid odd resolutions.

Mac pro only 3 years old. Definitely 64 bit.

                          @craigw

This could be a bug. Please submit a ticket and the team will work on a recreate of this bug so we can find out what's going on.

To give you an immediately workaround that I'm sure will be successful, I would create a movie that contains all the pictures, with one picture per frame. Then you could use the position input to select the correct picture.

Craig can you tell me what the resolution of these images is please? That would be the first step in attemtping to recreate the problem.

Can you share the patch and example media when you submit a ticket please. I just did a quick build replicating the part of your patch that I saw in the video but it functioned fine for me.
