[Solved] Auto start with a Live input
-
Hi all
I am wondering about the possibility of getting Isadora to autostart and launch a one scene show.
I understand the process (somewhat) and my plan is to use automater on Mac to auto start Isadora upon start up. This works and seems fine.
My query is with the Live Capture Settings. To set a live capture input you need to go into the Live Capture settings each time you start and click on "Start Live Capture" and then force stage output. This seems to the case with me. Not a big issue whilst I am there but this process is something that will need to be auto mated for a 3 month gallery run.My set up is a USB 2 camera fed into Isadora via USB that then outputs to a TV. A simple CCTV idea in a gallery. The application is intended to be standalone etc.
I am sure that I am not the first to ask this but is there is a suitable method of automating this within Isadora? I am thinking of something akin to a macro that auto triggers the above and runs the scene upon start up??
The mac mini in question is running the latest version of Mojave and possses a 250 GB SSD w/16GB Ram. I am running Isadora 3.03 (latest)
I would be grateful for any pointers.
Many thanks.

You can use the 'Capture Control' actor to turn on and off your live feeds.
And you can use 'Show-Hide Stages' to output your stages (or use the preference setting to open the stages after the file opens.) -
Hi
Many thanks for that.
I did not think there would be actors called "Show-Hide Stage" and the like but that is fantastic! I was thinking of having to create a macro that tracks your screen selections etc. This way is a tad more obvious and simpler too.
I really appreciate the help. It makes perfect sense now.
Thanks again.

Hi
I am just coming back to this.
Hi again
I have managed to get this working but sometimes when I re-boot/restart the mac, the playback from the camera is hit and miss. The scene will engage but the feed will not show on screen. I sometimes have to manually enable live settings etc.
I have a simple file with a Video input watcher linked to the Projector Actor and the capture control actor sitting stand alone.
I have the set option of show stages after 3 secs in the preference menu.
I am not sure if I need to attach The Capture Control trigger to anything or is the Capture Control Actor a stand alone unit?
I should hasten to add that I am running this on a one screen set up. Might this be confusing the program?

Hi there, could you please attach your patch so that we can look at it. Your simple patch without the media would do fine in this case.

Hi
Sometimes posting things to a forum makes you think about the set up you have.....
I have added the Enter Scene Actor and it seems to be cueing the scene perfectly on boot
Also, is there a way to hide the finder bar? Finder seems to appear on top and the menu bar is visible and Isadora is to the back etc. This being while the scene runs and displays the video input in "full screen"?
Thanks again

Hi Michael
Thanks for this.
I have this option unticked.
I have followed the instructions from Marks guide to running an applescript upon start up. Whilst the script executes and runs, the desired effect is not seen. At the moment, upon completion the script appears to knock Isadora from full screen back to the normal Isadora layout.
I am only using the one monitor as it is a stand alone etc.

Ok, I see the problem. You don't need all these instructions in the script anymore.
First: In the Isadora preference settings in the General tab tick mark "open most recent file", "activate first scene" and "show stages after 3 Sec." You now don't need the "Show-Hide Stages" and the "enter scene trigger" actor going into it anymore.
Second: the only way to get Isadora to be the most front applicate with the apple script is:
tell application "Isadora"
activate
end tellyou can download the script here: IzzyApplicationFocus.zip
put that into the login items instead of the script from @mark.Best Michel

Hi Michael
Many thanks for the pointers and the help.
All now works perfectly.
I have been a long time fan of Isadora and have only just come back into the realm of it due to a new job. I do appreciate the effort and advice I have received. It has been very helpful and has made me look good to a lot of people...:)!Thanks again.
