issue opening 2.6.1 file in demo
-
Hello Forum
I need your help.
I have been handed a file, originally made in 2.6.1.
When I try to open the file in 2.6.1 demo, there are a few missing pieces of media, which I skip.
Then nothing shows up, just a blank desktop, but Isadora it still open in the tool bar.
"UPDATE"
So we thought it might be down to us using the demo version.
we have gone ahead bought a week subscription to Isadora 3. Still every-time we try and open the file originally save in 2.6.1 Isadora crashes. Going back to basics we made a very simple patch on the 2.6.1 laptop and tried to open it on mine, still no luck.
I a running
High Sierra 10.13.6

Hi there @testcard67,
I haven't had this problem ever before, please open a new support ticket at https://support.troikatronix.c..., the technical support staff of Isadora can do a lot more then we can with these kind of issues.
Thanks and good luck :)

Hi,
The only time I have seen something like this after moving a project file to a different computer is when the interface has been saved while open on a secondary display/monitor in extended desktop. Could it be possible that the file interface is open but hidden? You could try resetting your display preferences and see if the window appears.
Best wishes

I had a similar problem when upgrading to Issy3, it was fixed by resetting the preferences. If Issy crashes when launching you can manually remove the old preferences files.

The best thing to do is to open a support ticket so you can send the file to us so we can try it.

There is a bug I have discovered in Isadora 3 that will lead to a crash if certain non-ASCII text is used in the older, 2.6.1 file. But this doesn't sound like the same things since that one always leads to a crash.
Best Wishes,
