Very interested to see this... I recently dealt with integrating images into my fx system...
I was forced to blend video with a BG color to create a video stream (switching between 0.001 and 0 at 6hz, not my most elegant approach ever)

follow up note... my problem was due to a test I had implemented on IO, that closed a gate if the rate was below a threshold.. this worked great for video, but images didn't trigger the gate open since they are sent once.
