Mac or Windows EOS Webcam Utility Beta

Hi, I recently found that Canon made some drivers so we could use your DSLR cameras as a web cams. The drivers for the different models can be find here. For my EOS 70D I downloaded and installed the drivers for the 77D and after reboot my macbook pro Izzy recognized immediately the new "web cam" connection. I tested intensely with a lot of effects all the day and it worked fine for me. I am running Isadora 3.07 on High Sierra, I also give it a try with Izzy 2.6.1 but it looks like Izzy do not recognized the connection.

What frame rate and resolution are you getting?
This is an exciting new offering. I will look into this myself soon :)

@dusx Apparently only let me use 1280 x 720 resolution, but with a solid 30 fps, and without any perceptible delay. I will do some tests with a USB extender tomorrow and I will try to compare the response to my blackmagic USB intensity shuttle.

Here is an example of one test (I was fooling around with my version of the intro of the Dark's show), so you can see the frame rate and resolution.

@josafat great good news !! One question...you get the signal from the HDMI output from the camera or from the usb output ?

@ril Hi Maxi, I get the image from the USB output.

I can't believe the quality and the speed of the image. I played a lot changing the zoom, the focus, the aperture of the lens and even the ISO, and it works very fast an without image quality lost.

Also when I made a change of the camera parameters, and I can seen it over the image in the camera display, it do not shown in the image that Isadora gets.

@ril Hola Maxi! La verdad es que desde hace varios años estaba esperando algo así, hermano.

Best of all, is the power of using cameras where you can change lenses and all their settings (in real time) depending on the circumstances of each artistic presentation. For a few years I have been using the canon2syphon app, but since I had to switch to High Sierra a few months ago it has stopped working, but this app never worked as good as these canon drivers do.

It seems that Isadora 2.6.1 does not recognize the canon drivers at all, so it do not shown the option in the Live Capture Settings.

I will continue testing this new feature, and maybe next days I could get in my hands an EOS 6D and possibly in a T5 or a T7 models, and then I will share my results here.
