      hello,

finally, the last years, we get every osc transmission from izzy to anywhere to work.

      in any way!

but obsidian onyx is a hard case.

we try to adjust 0ne parameter with osc from izzy.

      we send /Mx/fader/4203 as address,

and the float xx,yyy (maybe 127), with use type on or of,

from multitransmit or the normal osc transmit actor, all possible things we can do we tryed.

we try also the hole bunch of workarounds which we have to use bevor, e.g.

not using the value field, writing the value direct into the address field of the osc actors, and and and and....

      but it does not work.

if we use the EXACT same address in touch osc, it works without problems. and onyx responds very good.

we compare the osc messages from izzy and touch osc with osc monitor (freeware tool) and they looks the same there.

but in the izzy monitor, they look diffrent in the last section of the list, but we can´t identify the exact differents because the monitor puts dots between the parts of the last section, we think is the osc details part of the monitor list.

so what we are doing wrong?

      thx.

Sending from TouchOSC means you're likely sending from a different device than is running Isadora (because tablets and phones can't run Isadora), which makes me think that it's a networking issue. Do you have the board and the computer connected to an ethernet switch and using a private LAN?

Did you also make sure you have the IP addresses and ports input correctly on the board side and the Isadora side?

I take it you've followed the steps from the manual:

        OSC Configuration (Any OSC Device)

To set up OSC on the Console:

        1. Access the menu by pressing the MENU button or ONYX in the upper left hand corner, then press Main Menu.
        2. Under Network, press Settings, and then press Interfaces on the bottom navigation. Ensure that the IP Settings are set to "AUTOMATIC" and that OSC is enabled on the "REMOTE" adapter.
        3. Press Apply.
        4. Navigate to the OSC page.
        5. Under Settings enable OSC on the "Remote" network interface.
        6. Under Devices Activate the first OSC Device using the Properties options on the right column.
        7. Enter a name for the Device - example "iPad Remote"
        8. Enter the IP Address of the OSC device. If using TouchOSC, the "Configuration" page in the TouchOSC app will show you your device's IP address.
        9. Ensure the Incoming Port used by the OSC device matches the settings on the iPad.
        10. Press Update and Apply.
        11. In the Touch OSC app or other device, press the Refresh Button on tab 6 (Config).

The console and the remote should begin to communicate.

hello, not at set, but yesterday night we realized, that when we open onyx on the lap top, it opens on built in display.

normally we open and direct put the onyx window to the touchscreen atteched to the laptop.

so if we letf the window on main screen, oh wonder osc from izzy to onyx works!!!

so we change to the latest stable release of onyx and it works also pn secondary screen.

but we still try to understand the different monitor message from touch osc and izzy.

but at all we can work further, uff.

            thank you all form infos!

            thx.

              @ all

are there people here in the izzy world, who work with onyx on real stage conditions?

with a large amount of moving lights and maybe the build in dylos pixel mapper.

it looks like a reliable solution to give the dmx stuff out of isadoras hands.

so we decided to buy a nx wing, so far it works like some other console like lightning solutions.

we want to share our expiriences and the hardware for some kind of workshop in leipzig, germany the next weeks,

so if anybody works for a while with onyx we would ask for some online talk or something.

the focus should be to use onyx as a kind of light instrument for compose and store dmx scenes, showcontrol and videomap everything with isadora.

              thx.

Well, if you can post that information here I can analyze it.
