[FIX: CLEAR CACHE/COOKIES] Reply Buttons on the Forum Don't Work
-
I am not sure if it is just me, but I cannot use the reply buttuns at all in the forum on Safari or Chrome (firefox works though), nothing happens when I click and I don't get console output either.
Safari Version 14.0 (15610.1.28.1.9, 15610)
Chrome Version 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Am I alone in this?
-
@fred I was experiencing this issue periodically today as well.
-
I can access 'reply' buttons when logged in on Safari v13.1.3 and on Safari 14.0.2
I can't access on Chrome 88.4324.150 though.
On iOS I have been having some annoying interface behaviour.

also, recently i've noticed that the back arrow in chrome takes me out of the website, rather than back to the forum page.

I can verify that the reply button does not work on Google Chrome v88.0.4324.150 and Firefox v85.0.2 on MacOS.
However, in both Firefox and Chrome, if I:
1. Cleared cache and cookies (i.e., everything)
2. Quit the app and restarted
the reply function worked again. Can you please try this in your browsers and report back?

I edited my post above after I found out clearing the cookies and cache solved the problem for me on Chrome and Firefox, so I'm tagging you again. Please try this and report back.Thank You,

I have no problem with the Reply button but with the Send button after I have written my reply. The message disappears but does not appear in the forum. I have to write it again. It just happened to me with this reply.

Again, try clearing the cache and cookies as described above. See if that improves the situation.

Since it doesn't always happen, I have to wait some time and respond to see if it solves the problem.

@mark
clearing the cache solved the issue of wonky back button behaviour. (chrome on OSX) -
@mark cool, cache and cookies cleared and reply is working.
-
@mark back in business, that did it for me. Thanks!
