[ANSWERED] Recording stage with sound
-
Hi I wonder if there is a simple answer to this!?
I've been recording stage for various pieces to be live streamed this weekend.
I use Isadora with Ableton. So I need to record the visuals of Isadora and the sound fro Ableton. I use various interactions with midi notes controllers etc.
The problem is I can't get Isadora to record the sound from Ableton that belongs to the visuals.
So I have had to record the audio and visual components separately then cobble together in Final Cut Pro.
I also use Loopback to try and route the various signals.
Hopefully I can resolve this with your help!
Cheers, Dave

You can use the SyphonRecorder to record the video from Isadora via syphon and select Loopback in SyphonRecorder as audio source.

@michel thanks a lot. I've downloaded syphon but can't get it to receive video from Isadora Stage Recording or audio from Ableton? It just shows a blank transparent box with nothing?

An option I like to use when recording my YouTube tutorials is to use OBS to combine Video and Sound sources. I think you will find it is rather easy to setup OBS to accept Syphon from Isadora, and audio from Ableton (and other sources if needed).
You will need to use the Syphon virtual Webcam https://troikatronix.com/add-o...
On PC there is a Spout plugin required ( https://github.com/Off-World-L... )@Woland is this still best practice for feeding Syphon to OBS on Mac?

Did you activate syphon output in the stage settings in Isadora? Did you choose the right audio source in the syphon recorder settings?
You will only see if it has sound after looking at the recording.

I've added a feature request to allow recording the audio and video output from Isadora using to Capture Stage to Disk function and actor.

@woland Yes I think it should be possible to simply record all the content ie the audio and the video.
