      Hi,

      I am working on a patch that records the stage for 9 seconds. I use the Capture Stage to Movie actor and I specified a file name and put replace on. So that each recording is replaced. After the recording I want to play the recording by pushing it from the bin control actor. After the video is played I delete the file from the movie player to make sure it is not active while I make a new recording.

      The problem is that the movie doesn't want to playback when I push the video. It appears in the movie player and it turns green, but doesn't play. I also don't see it being output to the connected projector.

      I use the Blackmagic HD 8bit 4:2:2 as codec for recording. When I hoover over the recording in the file browser everything seems fine. The length and frame rate. When I play the file in Windows Media Player the video plays fine as well.

      I did a re-render of the stage recording in After Effects with the same Blackmagic HD 8bit 4:2:2 codec, imported it into Isadora and it also didn't play. I did another render of a totally different movie with the same codec at it also doesn't playback.

      So it seems that I can use the Blackmagic HD 8bit 4:2:2 codec to record, but that it doesn't work for playback.

      A stage recording with HAP codec seems to work and playback, only the stage recording doesn't work well and records only 0.4 seconds and then somehow stops. I don't have abort on frame drop checked.

      I tried other codecs, all the same problem.

      Does anyone has suggestions for a flawless recording and playback of the stage recording? That would help me greatly!

      Thanks in advance!

      Adri

        @DusX Any idea / advice that you can offer about this codec?

            @DusX

            Strangely enough I just hit problem recording and playing back stage today. First time I tried that since early 3.x
            Please can you share the solution when you've arrived at it (as I'm sure you undoubtably will!)? Thanks!

              @dusx Thank you. I created a ticket. I made a new patch where I isolated the problem. In the description of the ticket I added a dropbox link to the project. Thanks in advance!

                @dusx I ended up doing a clean install of Windows. Apparently the problem was on system level. Still have no clue what caused the problem, but a clean install finally worked
