I am experiencing weird flashing of video output while I am opening or editing parameters in Isadora.

Does anybody have a similar experience?

One thing that helps us help you is if you give us information about your platform and operating system in your signature line. Please follow these instructions.

So please update your signature line and so we can at least know if you're on macOS or Windows, and what version of Isadora you are using. Then we can help you more.

        Best Wishes,
        Mark

I use a special - clean instal for show. But even on "all works and tests" 21H1 I have a same problem. Firmware version is 1.9.0.

Isadora version: 3.0.8.f12. I am quite reluctant to upgrade before the show if I am not 100% sure it is going to go well, since patch is little complicated.

            Thanks @mark for care.

Never upgrade before a show!!!!! (I have done it [like everyone else at one point I suppose] and have gotten "bit".)

But I take it since you say 3.0.8f12, that's the version you're using?

Is the issue with video capture? You've got the Live Capture Settings window open...

One thing: that window needs to render into an OpenGL context to show you thumbnail. The stage also needs to render into an OpenGL context. So while they should not interfere, just verify for me that the problem still exists when the Live Capture Window is closed.

                Hi have the same Problem

I open an audiofile with windows media player, put it on repeat, turn the sound from mediaplayer off, minimize it and the flashing is gone...

(think it has something to do with the Screensaver or windows aero) because this is my easy way to turn screensaver off

                  Dear Mark,

yep. I am not eager to update before the show, but I was surprised a bit from this behaviour. But thanks for reminder. Cause it is tempting. But I need to be on stage, so it it would be disaster if something goes wrong.

I see the flashes on output basically whatever actor I open from those I can open - like for instance mapping icon of the Projector actor.

In a patch - I have IR tracking via Eyes++ and blob decoder (I am also experiencing flashing on the preview "screen" of Eyes+ (routing is via Black Magic Intensity Shuttle USB 3.1). It works, but it is worrying, cause I am experiencing random crashes by starting it up. Once it works, it stable.

Wii - not working, I can not figure out how to get Wii input as OSC on the Windows and noone seems to know. So unfortunately no input there.

                  OSC triggers

                  Audio triggers

It is fairly not so complicated on interfacing side.

Originally, patch had been upgraded from Isa2 on Mac. I had somehow better results when I did clean new tests in Isa3, than this upgraded files.

                  Thank you very much!!!

                  Warm regards,

                  Tomas

Do you also see this flickering in, for example, a floating stage preview or a Stage Preview Control? If not, it's possible that the problem is with the cable between the projector and the computer, or that the issue is the projector itself.

Also, we'd love it if you could send us the version of the patch that was misbehaving on Windows, along with the details of your setup (what you're using for live capture, output, display, etc) so that we can try to replicate the issue and, if it's a bug on our side, squash it.

                    Best wishes,

                    Woland

                      Just in case it helps,

I'm on windows 10, specs in the signature.

I found "curious" flickering on STAGE - Same behavior on 3.1.1 and on 3.0.8

STAGE flickers "only every second time" I click on any of the items at menu bar (concides whith the menu rolling down).

It only happens if I have a preview window in the control panel

It STOPS happening if I click once to open another window (i.e. notepad) and come back to ISADORA.

So for me it is not a big deal, since the workaround is quite simple  ;-)

                      Cheers,

                      Gaspar
