[LOGGED] Get URL Text Actor in Isadora 3.1.1

Salute! It appears that in the recent version of Isadora 3.1.1 Get URL Text Actor is not receiving the data, although in Isadora 3.08 it is working fine. Is there any workaround or perhaps I am missing something? Much appreciated!

Are you on macOS or PC? Please follow these instructions so we'll know that in the future without needing ask.

That said, I just tested 3.1.1 Get URL Text on macOS and it worked as expected.

if you try with a http address it doesn't work. You need a address with https

I just tested this on Windows, Isadora 3.1.1 and it works as expected. Do you by any chance have a Firewall that is blocking your query?

Not necessary true. Some URLs will use the HTTPS endpoint, but for example the HTTP API of NASA works fine in Isadora.

I work on various machines, mostly Macs, sometimes Windows. Current projects is on Mac mini M1 where the resent Isodora 3.1.1 is installed.

Most of my patches are done on my old Macbook with early versions of Isadora 3.

So after launching the recent patch on Mac mini, Get URL Actor failed to receive data from the link HTTP://api.domain.com

Indeed after testing a different link with HTTPS, the flow of data was successful on Mac mini M1 Isadora 3.1.1

is there any way to receive data with a link HTTP://api.domain.com via Isadora 3.1.1 though?

For current project on Mac mini M1 and Isadora 3.1.1, the patch was created on earlier version of Isadora 3.0.8 and after lunching it on Mac mini with Isadora 3.1.1, the data flow from a link HTTP://api.domain.com stopped working. I did test HTTPS link successfully though, is there any way to get the data from original link HTTP on Isadora 3.1.1?

Our technical team has logged this issue / verifying or we have an bug in Isadora 3.1.1 on MacOS.

You seem to be correct that Isadora 3.0.8 (macOS) is fine. Windows on the other hand doesn't has any issues both on Isadora 3.0.8f12 and Isadora 3.1.1

Will keep you guys updated.

For now sadly I don't have a way to get the actor working with HTTP URLs on MacOS.
