      Hi all,

Question: I am trying to send ArtNet to control the Panasonic PT-MZ16K.  I can see I am changing the value with light output defined as channel 1 on the projector menu screen but nothing actually happen........I was told that perhaps I need to "enable Artnet" on the computer and channel 11 is marked at "enable/disable" BUT when I send 255 to it, it actually powers down the projector.  So it makes me think the channel assignment is not correct?  Thought?  Tips?  I want to use ArtNet to track the focus.

      Let me know.

      best,

      Jeanette

It's been a while using ArtNet on Panasonics, but if remember right, there should be an option to change the functions, assigned to the ArtNet channels. There you can define which functions are connected to which channel.

Regarding to the manual it is found unter [Network] - [Art-Net CHANNEL SETTING].

Be aware, that most functions are not available with the original remote, while ArtNet control is activated and DMX signals are send to the projector.

Hi thanks and yes I did assign the channel - my question really is I can see the projector receiving channel information - for example channel 1 is light output and I can send data from 0 to 255 and I can see the projector receiving because on the Artnet Status it will change as I send data to it. BUT the light output does not change.  My question is why?  What am I missing?

Are you trying to adjust the light output on the projector? A projector lamp output is either on or off and the value is rounded down so 255 is OFF and anything under is ON. If you need to dim the video I'd adjust the source image.

This isn't true anymore, since modern laser projectors does not work like old light bulb driven projectors.
Most Panasonic laser projectors are dimable. In fact, instead of using a mechanical shutter, those modern projectors just shut down the light source to 'mute' the picture.

I don't really have a solution for your specific issue. But I would guess, it is something about the ArtNet "ENABLE/DISABLE" function. It seams to interfere with other remote controls. You should try to reset it, by disable (ArtNet default Channel 11 value to 1 and back to 255) before trying other settings. And try to always keep sending the "ENABLE/DISABLE" Value of 255.
