there was some talk a while ago of expanding Isadora's audio mixing capabilities.

Has there been any progress on that front? Is it still in the pipeline?

I'm mostly interested in this v as it relates to the mixing of multiple live audio sources for RTMP streaming.

I'm aware that this can be done with an external mixing desk routed into Isadora, but audio being managed through Isadora would open up the possibility of using custom control surfaces,

      I'm running Isadora 3 on Win10
Machine 1- AMD 1700x 8 core CPU, 32GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX580 GPU
Machine 2 -AMD 5900HX , 8 Core APU, 16GB Ram and an integrated GPU

@thatmattrogers This is not currently possible within Isadora's environment, as you mention you would need to use some external mixing desk/software. Isadora 3.2 offers multi-channel audio mixing for sounds played via the Sound Player. We will be expanding this feature next to support audio from the Movie Player. Further audio enhancements will come in subsequent releases.

Audio is a high-priority item for us moving forward.

@dusx Hi! Long time no chat!

I am cleaning up an Izzy patch for an art installation that I did on Mac in 2018 since it is becoming part of the permanent collection at the AGO in Toronto. It is now running on a Windows tower instead.

The project has 4 channels of audio through an external Tascam 208i sound card. I can route all the Sound Player outputs, no problem, but when I try to add the sound output from a Movie Player, the SND and TRK options remain greyed out, even in interactive processing mode. When I select the Tascam 208i as the output device, it fails to output.

I am behind the curve with understanding current Movie Player options in Windows for sound output. Any advice?

There are about 20 scenes. The main sound output runs in one always active scene, but some of the scenes have movie files with sound that needs to also be heard. So that's the issue.

          Best, Jamie

These inputs are remnants from Quicktime, and remain only to allow older files to update without losing control links. At this time playing multi-channel audio in Windows requires setting the sound device to recognize the audio channel format.

This article outlines the movie file setup (same for Mac and PC as far as the multiple audio channels) https://support.troikatronix.c...
Here I show the Windows settings for Quadraphonic, and 5.1 audio https://community.troikatronix...

Please open a support ticket, and I can look at one of your Movie files and recommend your next steps.
