In memory of Bill Cottman
-
I’d like to share a special memory in honouring our wonderful artist friend Bill Cottman, who was a big part of the Isadora family. Last time I saw him was at the work-in-progress showing of W(e)aves 熾 0.5b as part of my presentation/workshop at Isadora Werkstatt 2019 in Berlin, I always remember his really kind and beautiful presence, he also gave me some really heartfelt feedback and always been so supportive from afar. Before his passing, he gave me the permission to share this really special notes that he took at that time, really inspiring interpretation just by itself. It was the first time I’ve been gifted with such creative notes on my own work.
He left this physical plane on Sunday, December 5th, 2021. Today is his 78th Celebration of Life, July 3rd, 2022. I didn’t get a chance to share his lovely notes before he passed away. Today I like to take this moment to share this love, creativity and joy from this very kind, special and lovely soul, who I was very very honoured to get to meet through the izzy family. We will always remember you Bill. Thank you for your kind heart and soul.

Sammy, this is lovely. I noted his birthday today and even though I never met him, we communicated often - we shared a Prairie vibe - and he was kind enough to share his latest book with me. He seemed to me a kind and generous soul and I was saddened by his death. Thank you for remembering him in this way.
Cheers,
Hugh

What a loss. I know him for so long in the forum and happily like Sammy I could meet him in 2019 at the Isadora Werkstatt. He was such an active and well-traveled man. I hope that at this age I can still keep my curiosity and willingness to experiment.
