      Hi,I'm looking for a way to convert video to ASCII characters. like the image bellow. Can anyone point me in a direction?

        On Mac there's a Quartz Composer Actor named "QC ASCII Art":


        For cross-platform solutions, search Shadertoy and GLSLSandbox for "ASCII". You can also Google "GLSL ASCII".

        P.S. If an effect gives you ASCII art in color and you want it black and white like your example above, you can use the Desaturate actor to remove the color from the video.
