[ANSWERED] Mirroring an iphone screen?

Is there a way to mirror an iPhone's screen in Isadora? Basically I want to show the audience the iPhones screen via Isadora. I could do it I suppose by plugging the iPhone into a lightning to HDMI adaptor and using a capture device to bring it into Isadora, but is there another way?

Hi Mark - i had a lightning to HDMI adapter - it did nothing. absolutely nothing. the screen was shared via the system already built in to iOS. i think its called Airplay?? or you can use EpocCam as a video source.

Thanks John... Yes, could do the OS sharing thing if my computer was a Mac and not a PC :-)

I've actually had success with the lightning to HDMI adaptor direct to a projector, but don't think I've tried to capture from it!

Will EpocCam capture the iPhone screen? I didn't realise it did that: I thought it just used the phones camera. Am I wrong about that?

Hi, here’s how I do it. It’s part of a large environment of systems.

The iPhone is mirrored to an Appletv which I then feed to a video capture devise on the computer running Isadora.

@craigw There's an app called NDI HX that captures your screen and broadcasts it over (you guessed it) NDI, so as long as the phone and show computer share a wifi network that's quite a tidy way to do it.

Just want to update with my method of SUCCESS in this!

Iphone to Apple Lighting to HDMI adaptor to Blackmagic Ultrastudio 3G to laptop to Isadora live capture.
I'd not realised that BM devices weren't working with Isadora (Windows) but thanks to the latest release 3.2.4 all is good again.

Here's a photo of the setup. I can exactly mirror the phone's screen in Isadora, which was what I was wanting to do, as part of a performance's live captioning or a music track: rather than doing anything with text, I can just mirror the screen and use Spotify's show lyric function to show the lyrics as the song plays...

However AFAIK, I can't capture and play audio simultaneously in Windows, I have to use the movie player to play the song downloaded to the computer, and start that and spotify playing simultaneously. Maybe I can send the sound to a PA via Bluetooth: yet to be tried.

Anyhow @dbini this setup does work... am using genuine Apple lightning to HDMI device, which does have to be powered itself via a lightning charger.

Does the spotify lyric feature exist on the Windows native Spotify App? If so, maybe go with the Screen Capture actor?
If you already know which songs you're going to do this with ahead of time, you could play the songs on Spotify ahead of time hooked up to Isadora and capture the Stage output to disk. Then take the resulting movie and pull it into your editing software of choice to slap the audio track onto it and presto, now you can just use the Movie Player and a Projector actor for the actual playback of synched audio and video when the time comes. No live capture needed.

Yes, we know the track listing ahead of time.

And after reading your post I had a 'doh!' moment. (Imagine me slapping my forehead!). I realise we're both overthinking this: I can simply use the Blackmagic Media Express software to capture the phone's audio and video and play that movie back in Isadora. Might re-encode it first to save on file size, though! Easy peasy! Thank you, Lucas!
