[ANSWERED] What's the best way to get a UDP stream into Isadora?
-
I'm not sure how useful this will be going forwards, but I've been experimenting with a camera that can generate a UDP stream (it's a Sony FS5 for reference) and I was wondering if there's a way to work with this in Isadora. I suspect it will only ever have a very niche utility but it's always nice to know what tools I have in my belt.
I've played with it in OBS, which required a slightly hacky technique of capturing the stream in VLC, then having OBS input the VLC stream. I'm not sure if this same approach is possible in Isadora, or if there's a more streamlined approach. If anyone has any experience with this kind of video over IP i'd love to hear from you.
Thanks.

just to clarify (in case it makes a difference) this is a unicast stream using UDP

Isadora currently doesn't offer any UDP capabilities other than OSC (open sound control is sent via UDP).
We do however have beta options which would/should allow you to interface with your camera.
I will private message you to see if you might be suitable for our Beta program.
