Hi I hope someone can help?

I am outputting sound from Ableton and need to receive it in Izzy as well as obviously outputting to my soundcard for PA reproduction.

The only way I seem to get Izzy to receive audio is by using blackhole. I need it to simply use the sound directly from Ableton.

I'm clearly missing something very obvious!

      Thanks in advance,

      David

        Hi there!

I don't believe that Abelton allows you to set an output to multiple devices if you select the Blackhole device as output.

The issue that you are describing seems that you wish to get your Abelton output to both Isadora and your headphones out on your laptop so that you can connect that to a PA system, correct?

What you could try is an aggregate device.

        https://help.ableton.com/hc/en..

This basically allows you to combine multiple audio outputs (Blackhole and your main system out) as one device, allowing you to bypass the issue that Abelton can only connect to one device when you connect something like Blackhole.

Let me know if this makes sense!

@juriaan thanks a lot! I'll try. However, I don't really want to use blackhole at all I just want my single main output to go to my soundcard which connects to PA and Izzy at the same time.

          Cheers, David

I am not sure that's possible. You should however be able to setup an 4 channel output device ( aggregate ) that defines CH1 and CH2 are sent to your Soundcards CH1 and Ch2, AND that Ch1 and Ch2 are sent to Blackhole Ch1 and CH2... this way it is split, and Isadora can grab it from Blackhole as an input. (it is unlikely your soundcard has a loopback option built in). I don't use Mac for audio much, so I am not much help in how to setup the aggregate device.

@dusx yes, thanks! I've done that and seems to work also with the 'Multi-output device' which is another option (along with aggregate device) in the Audio MIDI setup. I guess I'll have to use one of these!

              Cheers, Dave
