      Hallo hallo,

      I am trying to see if there is a way to make it a little bit easier to make captions that can be triggered manually.

      These captions are the translations to some speeches that happen on stage and for this cannot be really timed like most of the plugins offered.

      Until now I have been using a sequential trigger connected to each line of text placed into a trigger text. This is really not as flexible as I would because every time something changes I have to disconnect and reconnect all the inputs manually. Plus the sequential trigger has a limit of 31 input which normally is below what I need to cover a scene.

      Does anyone have experience with making caption that needs to be triggered manually?

      Thanks

      Elena

          @elena,

          @RIL suggestion may be perfect and useful for you. You can also look at editing your script/captions in an external file and then reading in the file directly - that way any updates can be tracked as a line number.

          Check out the add-on for reading a file into Isadora here: https://troikatronix.com/add-o...

          Alternatively, the possibility of doing the same with the 'Data Array' actor is not overly complicated - see example patch attached:
