Using IP camera with password
-
Hi,
I'm trying to use an Ip camera I have that request a password. I don't need to have it on the web, I just need the image of that camera I chose because of the optical features but I do not need to have it on network or stream… I'm not used to that kind of material, can't I just use ethernet as video input ?thanks for help or hints… -
I only have a little experience with IP cameras, but I believe that the driver software should let you enter that password, and then it should be listed in Isadora as a source.

What kind of camera is it? You may have to use the password to log-in and configure the camera to work in your setup.

As Fred said, you possibly have to login to the camera (via browser) and if you are only in local network you can dissable the password.

Hi !
thanks for your messages. It's an IP camera I don't need to put online but I have to connect it on a router (directly to the computer doesn't work I don't know why, I'm not a network specialist). So I have a page where I have to ut login and password and also to choose between quicktime, vlc or server push mode (this one has no delay). But in preferences, I can't disable the login need. I tried the ipcamtosyphon but it's not working, maybe because of the need of chosing the different mode. I just wanted to use this camera like an usb or firewire one… but it looks really complicated. Any idea ? I know it can be done since I see post about multiple ip webcam but I can't pass the login-password-mode problem… -
@monsieurmeus
If you open the streams.xml file of the IPCAM2SYPHON you have the possiblity to enter a username and a password. Normally the mode you choose should appear in the stream address, that has to be pasted in the streams.xml file as well. Can you give an example how the address looks like?Best,

Hi!
thanks for your help, that's what I tried in ipcam2syphon :Then I tried something else: my stream opened in safari, did a "copy image address" and paste, that look like this :http://192.168.1.155/cgi-bin/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=adminthena puy in the xml back :but still not showing up -
@monsieurmeus
another question, is the stream adress the same in all stream settings, quicktime, vlc or server push mode?meanwhile try these two addresses:
http://192.168.1.155/cgi-bin/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=admin" name="ipcam0" username="" password="" display="1"/>
or
http://192.168.1.155/cgi-bin/videostream.cgi" name="ipcam0" username="admin" password="admin" display="1"/>Best,

ok, thanks for your reply.
for the stream address in quicktime I found http://192.168.1.155/tt.mov that isn't working either. I saved the video as quicktime, I can have the stream open as quicktime movie but the resolution is awfull and not showing up in izzy.For VLC, it's not working in webbrowser (I'm on mac) because "plugin not there"… but when I open in VLC directly http://192.168.1.155/cgi-bin/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=admin it's working but it's the low res stream…other 2 address you gave me aren't working, sorrybest,Sam
