[FEATURE EXISTS/ANSWERED] Scenes to scroll (centered?)
-
Another relatively small one and a little tricky to describe, but I was wondering if an option to keep the current scene centred in the window would be a good feature.
Then when jumping, and crossfading to the next scene everything slides down meaning the 'active' scene is always in the middle. During big shows I find the 'active/current' scene is tucked far right and I forget/can't see whats coming up. I had nearly 100 scenes in a recent gig. Then I find my self anxious to click and scroll forwards incase I accidentally click a scene. Hope this makes sense to those reading. -
Not exactly centering, but have you looked at the '... Scroll the following [X] Scenes into View' option found in the User Interface block on the General tab of the Preferences?
It allows the active scene to move, but always with a set number of scenes coming up, which stops the current scene from heading to the right until you are toward the end of your show.

Oh my goodness! This is exactly what I needed! Thanks mate.

It works perfectly as long as you go forward but when you want to go back you get the +x scene as the first scene. For example, if you have entered +5 in the settings and you want to go back to 4 you will see scene 9 as the first scene on the left and not 4

That's not what I'm seeing with 3.2.6. Gif of this working as intended going forward and backward: https://recordit.co/lbT5OwKhFH
You're supposed to be able to keep clicking on the furthest visible Scene in either direction (first or last) and be able to move in that direction through the Scene List at the same rate of Scenes-per-click. If you have enabled this function, it means you're probably clicking on the last visible Scene sometimes to show further Scenes so you can go forward through the Scene List.
The only reason I could see that this might not work as expected is if you have very wide Scenes in the Scene List and/or if the resolution of your display doesn't align well with the total number of Scenes that can be visible on your display at once (e.g. I can get it to do weird things if I set it to scroll the next 20 Scenes into view and go from having Scene 2 selected to Scene 1 selected, I can get it to do kinda weird stuff because I can only fit 18 Scenes on my display and in this case moving backward doesn't really work because even clicking the leftmost Scene won't satisfy the requirement for the number of Scenes I'm asking to be able to see on the right).

you're right if you navigate by clicking on the scene but not if you use a jump actor to go back. At least it is my experience.

I made a quick test file and it seems to work as expected for me. I've got my settings to scroll 3 Scenes into view and going to the end and pressing "a" a few times does make three Scenes appear to the left of the currently active Scene when I'm going backward.
