Windows 11 Output Freezing
-
Hey all,
I have a show tomorrow and I just had to transfer my .izz file to a new machine and I'm running into fatal problems. The show runs fine around 10-15% load until it gets to a scene with some Grapher actors. The load shoots up to 40-48% load, which should be fine, but the stage output completely freezes. Isadora still runs and I can see triggers going off but the visual output is frozen! What is odd is that when I go to the scene individually, it runs fine around 8%. It's only during the show that it crashes every single time. Does anyone have any clue what's happening here and how I can fix it? I have reset my preferences and made sure my machine is performing at top capacity! For your reference my machine is a Windows 11 Laptop with an Intel Core i7 10th gen processor.
Thank you so much!

@brestess Mark Coniglio, creator of Isadora here.
When Isadora crashes, have you made sure to fill in your name and/or email address in the dialog box that appears, and then sent in the crash reports? If you have done this, I can try to analyze the crash. If you haven't given us your name and/or email address in the crash dialog, I won't be able to find your crashes.
Also, please read the post about adding information about your hardware setup to your signature line. It helps us a lot. Finally, for the fastest turnaround with our support team, open a ticket. When you do, please:
- Get the Windows 11 version by going to System > About and getting (e.g., 2H22)
- Tell us the computer hardware you're using.
- Tell us what kind of graphics card you're using.
- Tell us if the failure only happens when the computer is attached to a video projector (i.e., if you are just running with a Preview widow, does Isadora crash)
- Any other details about the hardware that might be important.
Best Wishes,
Mark -

@Brestess To respond to this, please either send me a direct message via the forum with the email address you used or send in the email address info as part of a ticket if you submit one.
Please do not post your email address on this public forum.

Reworded this in my original post to make it clear that I am asking the user to put their name and/or email address in the crash report dialog, not to post it here.

Hey Brestess,
A laptop in particular can have two graphic cards, one integrated and one dedicated GPU at times.
If you for example are working with a laptop above a dedicated price class you likely have a dedicated graphics card.
For more information about this:

For what it's worth, every time I've had output freezing in Windows, it's a CODEC issue. Maybe try converting the video to HAP Codec and see if that helps? If you need a way to do that, Shutter Encoder is great.
Cheers,
