Would it be possible to have audio AU plugins open their respective guis somehow? its impossible to use many of the plugins through value manipulation only. every other app i use that can load AU's can launch their gui's. thanks

        Hi,

In my experience with the Audio Unit plugins, you can double-click the actor module to expose the interface if a GUI is associated. For example, the AUGraphicEQ provides an interface - sadly, other more complex AU plugins do not offer a GUI at all. AND - just a heads up - if you don't close out the Pop Up control interface before moving to another scene in Isadora - you will likely get a crash or unresponsive, leading to a force quit!!

        Best wishes

        Russell

Whaaaat? I've never seen this before! Double-clicking the AUSoundInput actor for me just collapses the actor, it doesn't open a GUI. Am I doing something wrong?

Not very surprising. They're not our actors, we just pull in the AU functions built into macOS, so some of them can be kind of weird in certain situations.

              Hi,

The AU plugins require being patched through to an audio input actor or audio output actor - or both. When a valid audio stream is connected some of the AU plugins appear to allow a control interface pop-up.

              Best wishes

@woland Yes Woland it has been like that for years. at least ten. AU implementation in Isadora is very old. I think I did an interactive installation in a Contemporary Art Museum in Brazil in 2006.... using the AU 3d audio mixer.

I started using Isadora 9 years ago and I've never seen this, which goes to show how infrequently I do anything with audio 😅

@bonemap amazing thanks so much.. never knew about that.. i was clicking the wrong places i guess..now I need to get the audio routing worked out because I have been using isadora for 15 years and always focused on everything but audio.. now im trying to get ambsionics, 5.1, and complex multiout setups working.

@demetri79 Ambisonics might be hard although I can see my 3rd order ambisonic microphone Audio Unit plugin inside Isadora. My microphone is a Zylia ZM1
