HAP from Mac to Windows issue
-
Has anyone had issues moving HAP files from mac to windows? Mostly it works fine, but I have issues with random media files. There will be one or two that just don't work or are full of jitter.
For one project, it happened with files I had created in artmatic rendered in ProRes then converted to HAP, which were full of jitter. I even tried rendering out avi then converting to HAP, same issue.
On the current project, a couple of files pulled from youtube and prelinger, then converted to HAP are just digital static.
All files play just fine on my M1 Macbook. The issue is when I move the project to the client's windows machine. Cant troubleshoot on the clients machine currently because we are on different continents, but wanted to see if anyone else has this issue...

Try converting to hap.avi for the Windows machine

@woland thanks. I tried rewrapping it to .avi with shutter encoder, but still have the same issue. strange...

Did you try going back to the original ProRes rendered files and converting them to HAP .avi using Shutter Encoder? In other words, not re-wrapping the HAP encoded .movs but actually transcoding from ProRes to HAP .avi?

There is a known issue in Shutter Encoder (actually part of ffmpeg) that puts the wrong timing onto rewrapped hap avi files. (I think they play at double speed... something like that)
Try creating them fresh as @mark_m suggested.
