[ANSWERED] Controlling blur with control watcher
-
Hi
I have a video going through a motion blur actor and I want to be able to control the amount of accumulation (within set parameters) and also switch the actor bypass on and off using a single control watcher (effectively a MIDI controller knob). I'm using a limit scale value actor to give limited control of the accum amt input on the blur actor and that's good, but I need to be able to switch the effect off (ie switch on the bypass on the actor) when the control knob goes under a certain value (8) and switch the bypass off when it goes over that value.
Is there a way to do this? I've tried playing with trigger and value actors but can't figure it out.
I'm using Isadora 4 on a Mac.
Cheers
Emma

Try to use a 2 Comparators, one with the mode set to gt (greater then) and the other to lt (lower then)
If you want to include the value 8, use 'le' (less and equal then) and 'ge' ('greater and equal then)

Thanks. I'd not discovered the Comparitor actor, I'll have a play with that, I can see this being useful for me moving forward. I've managed to get the right effect by limiting min and max values in the Control Watcher value parameters (0-8) then putting it out through a value changed actor with a min change of 5 and through toggle to switch effect bypass on and off when knob passes 8. Seems to work consistently.
