[ANSWERED] Depth Camera and OpenNI Tracker
-
Hi it's been a while but I'm getting back into Izzy and using an Orbbec depth camera.
Will I still have to use my old mac (to broadcast to new mac listeners) with the depth camera or has the new version of Izzy overcome the issue with OpenNI Tracker necessary to create data from movement?
Thanks, David

If want to use the OpenNI Tracker actor on a newer Mac, you’ll have to enable Intel emulation (Rosetta) mode on the Isadora application.

@woland Hi thanks for your comment. I'm using Izzy 3.2.6 on both old and new Macs. I created a setup on the new MacBook Pro (2021 M1 Max) the same as the old working set-up, and made sure Rosetta was selected. However, the red light wouldn't come on on the Orbbec, as it does on the original set-up with the old macbook pro (2019). Will it work if I upgrade Izzy on the new mac to the latest version (4.09)? Hope so!
Otherwise i have to keep using 2 macs, the old one sending data across to Izzy on the new one!
I hope the Izzy upgrade will solve this problem i have had ever since starting to use a depth camera, years ago.
Fingers crossed!
David

I'd advise you to download and install Isadora 4 from our Isadora Get It page and try it out in Demo Mode for free (without a license) to see how it runs on your computer(s). The only limitation of Demo Mode is that you cannot save your work, but both Isadora 3 and 4 can be installed on the same computer without issue.
