How do I find the previous saved version of my Isadora file?
-
I built a fairly complicated scene and I accidentally saved the file after accidentally deleting the actors in the scene (I know...I know...too much coffee). So I thought I'd use the revert feature to get back to my previously deleted version, except that when I did, I got a spinning beach ball. I had to force quit and reopened the project and tried to revert again. Beach ball again. Alas I didn't have my time machine disk attached either. So I'm wondering if there's a place in OSX where the file might be located and I could simply boot from there. @ Mark - any plans to have an autosave vault feature within Isadora?

As I understand: the revert function reverts to the last saved version. that means you save, you make lots of changes and instead of clicking undo until you are where you started you can click revert and it loads the file you have saved last. That means if you have saved the file with deleted actors, you will reload that file.

A few points here:
1) 1.3.0f24 had some bugs in the undo code. I think those are all cleaned up. So please go with the latest pre-release -- it's proving to be more stable on almost every front and I'm going to make it "the one" pretty soon. See http://troikatronix.com/isadora-1-3-0f25-release-notes/2) If you're opening the file, then reverting isn't going to help. It's simply going to open the file you just opened -- now it may be there's a bug with the revert, which is a different story. But there is no undo once you've quit the program... the undo chain is not saved with the file.3) Yes, autosave. It's on my list. It will get done in the next weeks.Best Wishes,Mark -
Hi Michel and Mark,
Thanks for your replies. I rebuilt what I had, which wasn't too intense because it's for a workshop at this point. I'm of course being more diligent about backups and frequent saves.Great there's an autosave option coming, thanks Mark.Best,Alex -
Saw the autosave came online. Thanks for that!
