Send TCP-IP commands
-
Hello,
I'm trying to send tcp-ip commands to Blackmagic Hyperdeck studio recorder.I've done that with telnet (putty) and I can control all the functions, but I need a graphical interface instead of command line.If I use a tcp send data + tcp stream control, when I activate the connection I have a reply from the recorder (on monitor window), but when I send any command I have no response at all.I'm sending ascii commands in form "play\r" (a carriage return is required) and I'm sending to the right IP and port and I see command sent on monitor.I don't have any kind of reply from recorder, not even a syntax error (in case of a wrong command). The strange thing is that I have a communication when I activate the stream, so that means the communication's parameters are ok...I'm on Win8 64bit Isadora 1.3.0f33Any suggestion?Thank youStefano -
Dear Stefano,
When doing this in putty, do you need to establish the connection after each command? For instance on most web servers, once you request the page, and the server delivers it, it severs the connection. Does it work the same for the blackmagic device? Also are you sure that it's a carriage return, and not CR-LF (\r\a) or LF? (\a) Could putt might be doing some kind of translation for you?Best Wishes,Mark -
Hello Mark,
I discovered that I need \r\n command to make it work.Another question, is it possible to use more than 4 tcp streams? I have to remote 7 Hyperdecks at the same time (gang record)Thank youStefano -
Dear Stefano,
I apologize for taking so long to respond to this thread.Right now, there are only 4 TCP/IP streams. I thought that would be enough, but I guess it's not for you. It's not really a serious undertaking to increase it, but it will take me a few days. Do you still need this?Best Wishes,Mark -
Hello Mark,
I'm starting to use isadora to control more and more things (recorders , switchers, routers ecc.) and I think I will need A LOT of TCP-IP streams... :-)Thank you for your support!!StefanoP.S.I tried to contact Troikatronix about buying a license for osx core USB (now I have a Win USB license) but never had a reply...It's a full price or there is some discount for crossgrades? -
Dear Stefano,
RE this:
"I tried to contact Troikatronix about buying a license for osx core USB (now I have a Win USB license) but never had a reply..."
That's strange. I just searched our "help desk" system and see no email from your email address (at least the one you've given when signing up for this forum.)
The price depends whether you paid the normal price ($350) or the public beta price ($225). If you paid $350, we offer the opportunity to change platforms -- but only once. (You can't change back and forth.) If you bought the beta, crossgrading to Mac OS is US$125.
Best Wishes,

Hello Mark,
any news about having more TCP streams ?I have an important project that needs something like 15-20 pieces of hardware to be controlled.Regarding the crossgrade I think at the time I bought the software with madido@freemail.it address that doesn't exist anymore.Honestly I don't remember if I paid normal price or not, but I need to run Isa on both OSX and Win.Thank youStefano
