that's the beauty of IR - projected light isn't usually in the IR spectrum, so there won't be any feedback.

to have full control over the image, you might want to tape over the IR transmitter on the camera and use a more focusable IR source, like a couple of profiles with enough filters in them to cut all of the visible frequencies. i tend to use a dark blue, a dark red and a dark green, and have my lanterns at around 40%, focussed on the dancers but off the floor. its worth trying it with the in-camera transmitter first though. LED lanterns are also invisible to IR, so if you need to change the light the space whilst tracking, its best to use these because they won't have an effect on what Eyes sees.

And if you're working on a PC, then you should go to the Preferences, enable "Native Windows Playback" and use WMV/AVI. These are far more efficient than QuickTime movies in the end.

after a lot of experimenting with the Epoccam HD, i can't solve the latency and frame-dropping that seems inherent when mirroring the output signal from an iPad with this app–straight airplay network is not acceptable either but has been working better.

there is an iPad app that is integral to this multimedia show so getting iPad mirroring to work cleanly is priority.

i'm now capturing with a Black Magic Intensity Extreme, so i posted info i discovered and new questions about iPad send in a new comment/thead Re black magic cards and iPad mirroring, since it's no longer an Epoccam issue.
