Isadora crashes when playing audio and video files at same time
-
Hi all,
I'm new to Isadora, and hopefully I'm making a nube mistake that's easily fixed.I'd like to play an audio file while playing a video file. But when I do Isadora crashes when the audio file finishes. Playing videos alone works fine (both with and without sound).
I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro (2.7 Ghz processor, 8GB memory, Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB).If need be I can attach all the audio files to videos using Quicktime Pro. But if I can avoid that chore I'd like to.
Thanks!

What format is the audio file?
I often find converting the audio to a .Mov is easier and more stable. You can control it in *just* (but not 100%) the same way. -
It's an aiff. If converting is what you guys normally do, that's good enough for me. Thanks.

It's what I do. The video files just plays black - no need for a projector.

One thing to add: the Sound Player actor loads the sounds into RAM, thus it is designed to be used more like a sampler -- short-ish sounds that need to be triggered instantaneously. If you have really long files, and you're not triggering them with an interactive controller, @Skulpture's suggestion is the way to go.One time saving tip: on Mac OS (only) you can simply change the extension of the .aiff file to .mov and import it. No conversion necessary. Isadora will treat it as a movie file.Best Wishes,Mark
