        Do you have an ssd drive? If not you possibly have to lower the photo-jpeg quality, 80% maybe to much for a normal Harddrive. Start with 50% and then go up to see where the limit is.

          No, no SSD unfortunately. Do you think reading from an external USB 3.0 or firewire 800 will help?

            Right, actually, sorry for the extra question here. I've done the test myself and external USB 3.0 runs much more smoothly. No problem. Thank you Michel!
