Connecting a DSLR via Windows.
-
Hi, I have spent the last few hours trying to get my Canon 70D to work with my Microsoft version of Isadora, but it just wont pick it up, its working fine out of the software.
Can anybody give me any pointers on how to do this? Thanks,

You cannot connect a DSLR directly with Isadora, because they are not real USB cameras even though you can connect them with the canon software via USB. For mac there is a syphon app called canon2syphon not sure if there is a spout equivalent for Windows.

In the past I have used: http://extrawebcam.com/
Not sure of its current support.Because it uses 'live preview' as the source.. its framerate is not great either. If you camera supports live HDMI out, you will get betterperformance using a HDMI capture device like: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/ca/products/intensity Be sure to test the HDMI output first connected to a TV or like, so that you can be sure that you are able to hide the controls. -
Canon to Syphon is the best bet.
