I thought I would ask, since I was just about to post a tool I have built for using Kinect 2 with Isadora.
I will update this tutorial early in the new year.

          Hello,

I've just introduced the Kinect to my students, but it appears that the old tutorials for how to get it up and running have been wiped from the site?!

Has it lost the support of the Isadora community?

Thanks in advance for any/all response,

Those tutorials were taken offline because they were for Isadora 2 and an update to one of the other pieces of software involved made the tutorials no longer viable. (Also the method used was not viable for Isadora 3.)

For Isadora 3 we have the kinect modules in development.

I preserved the files you should need to get it running on Isadora 2 and posted them here: https://community.troikatronix.com/topic/6363/what-is-the-best-alternative-to-ni-mate-for-kinect-v1-on-osx-today

               Dear FTP,

We have integrated actors that work with the Kinect in Beta. I am going to try to get these out before this Friday Feb 14, but I'm scrambling a bit to prepare a demo file. It might be Monday before it's ready.

Note: these actors are for Isadora 3 only.

That said, I will have @Woland make you a beta tester right now. You can then get access to what I hope to have out on Friday. You could tnen try out the plugin yourself and get ready to introduce your students to it.

              Best Wishes,
              Mark

Currently yes, but our long-term plan is to save up enough capital to clone Mark seven times.

That is very on point. Let’s hope the OpenNi plugins provide a spike of healthy capital so TroikaTronix can go chasing those dreams...🔮

A decent programmer (meaning one with 75% of my skills) costs 80 Euros per hour in these parts (it's probably more in the USA.) That's around 150,000 EUR per year if they are working a 40 hour week.  So yes, we are too small and I'm doing all the programming on my own. Thank goodness we have @xenia, @Woland, @DusX, @mc_monte and our dear @Michel handling sales, technical support, testing and the forum. Without them TroikaTronix wouldn't work at all.
