      Hi,

      A beginner here.

      I am thinking of upgrading to 2.0 because I would like to be able to project 1920x1080 H.264 video. My computer is:

      Model Identifier: MacBookPro10,1

      Processor Name: Intel Core i7

      Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz

      Memory: 8 GB

      So this seem to fulfill the system requirement, but I just wanted to make sure it can handle HD. I have downloaded to 2.0 but running it with 1.0 license. Currently, the HD clips are not running well. They are running it around 2 fps. If I get 2.0 license, it should play the video quality mentioned above? Or do I still need to downgrade to SD?

      Thank you for your support.

      Nao

        You will be fine with version 2.0 but version 1.0 for future readers is bad with h264.

          @Skulpture

          .h264 is not a big problem in Isadora 2.x anymore. You can actually play 5 or more if you computer is powerful enough.
          Read here under Tip 1: http://troikatronix.com/isadora-2-0-release-notes/

          @Whatnao

          To try out if your computer plays the full HD .h264 videos well move the registration file (/Users/Shared/isadora-registration.izr) to the desktop and restart Izzy, it will then start in demo mode with the 2.x features enabled, but saving is disabled.

          When finished move the registration file back to (/Users/Shared/) and replace the one that was newly created.

            Hello,

            Not all h264 are equal, some, like those made by my Lumix GH4 camera, doesn't play well, but other ones, like outputted by Apple Compressor or directly FCPX, play very well. Test it to be sure…
            For me, at the moment, with quite the same machine, it's the best codec. But stay strictly with GPU.

              Thank you!
              H.264 is working beautifully. Now, I feel pretty good about upgrading it.

                This is not so related question, but using the new movie player, the speed can go up only to 2. I have not found the way to change that. If I wanted to speed up to, say 4 or 5, I have to use the classic movie player? If so, I would have to use different codec?

                  This is a limitation of AVFoundation, you are sticked to max 2x speed. Though if you are playing with speeds you are better with a different codec that is not compressed, for example Apple Pro Res or PhotoJPG. If possible speed up the movie in an editing software before. If you want to interactively control the movie you either have to live with 2x speed or go back to the classic movie player, but then you loose the benefits of good performance.

                    @Michel

                    I will add a feature request, to increase this values if HAP is detetect. Since thats probably the best codec for speed adjustment, and it runs via QT not AV foundation.
